hand felted wool

...Christmas stocking
Made from Welsh wool and embellished with wild grasses and seed heads

I am loving the process of using washed, carded, local fleece and making felt. It is the most satisfying process, other than spinning my own yarn. To make 'fabric' is a creative wonder. It opens up a whole new realm of what can be made and produced.

I love picking dried seed heads and grasses on many a walk with my dogs in the fields that surround my home, so to incorporate this joy with my love of wool is fantastic.

Llandovery Sheep Festival...

....fun fun fun

this is my local festival and what a show it is, full of sheep, wool, spinning weaving and all things decidedly woolly...also great food...pizzas cooked in a wood burning oven and real coffee from a motor scooter....what more could you ask for?

I demonstrated peg loom weaving and crochet lessons and had a great time over at the 'sheeptacular' display of Welsh sheep breeds....yep, real sheep on display....very well done, kind to sheep and very informative....it was brilliant...ok, I know I have shown a lot of sheep in my pics...but, they are lovely and it is a Sheep festival..so I have an excuse!....love sheep ;0))
