felted leaves...

...decoration for a festive wreath

I have said how much I am loving needle felting and have been jabbing fleece at every opportunity possible with my little needle
thought I would make a festive wreath using felted oak leaves and crochet flowers
here's some of my work in progress
hopefully should be done in time to hang on our front door...

winter warming...

...soup
who can fail to love soup at this time of the year
especially if you can make your own delicious concoction
Celeriac Soup
how about trying this wonderful recipe from Rhoda at country homes and interiors
a celeriac soup with a little single cream in at the end of cooking for extra comfort
if you don't have a slow cooker or rayburn, just cook in a big pan the normal way you would make soup making sure that this wonderful vegetable is cooked till just soft

its delicious

cold and frosty...

...friday

woke up to a beautiful
frosty day this morning

this was our view
as the inversion from the valley gradually drifts up the hills
and clothes everything in a cold mist
until we could barely see the view
...very atmospheric
and then...
it recedes almost as quickly as it came
back to the valley
to give us back our beautiful view
all in the space of about an hour and half

...wonderful natural gorgeousness
