crochet course...

...had a great day yesterday with a super group of ladies all learning to crochet

they quickly got to grips with basic stitches and were making flowers by the end of the session.

all worked really hard whilst having fun chats and lots of tea, coffee and cake

looking forward to next months course...more learning to crochet and beanie hats

Monmouth Show...

...today

had a super day with a great bunch of people in the 'Country Matters' area of this great county show

I demonstrated peg loom weaving and promoted all things woolly, along side some super creatives showing their skills at felting, poetry, jam making, hedgerow foraging and much more.....even the lovely Terry Walton of the Radio 2 allotment was there to share his knowledge...

It's my fav county show, even though I live 60 miles away, I always really enjoy the day

I even got to meet a smallholder that breeds Whitefaced Woodland Sheep...a rare breed that I have always wanted to see in the 'fleece' and indeed spin their fleeces. Lovely to see people committed to keeping this beautiful breed of sheep alive.

village show...

....had such fun today at our village show

it's always a very good day, lots of people turn out to make it a great success

horses, sheep and dog showing...

making cakes, jams, turned bowls and walking sticks

pot plants, gorgeous veg, paintings, photography, knitted jumpers and so much more

...and am chuffed to say that my hand spun art yarn both won a prize!

we also did very well in the dog show....my lovely black lab won 'best in show' !!!!! Had great fun

think we did alright...great day
